The Ministry of Human Resources Development is preparing a massive plan to launch Bal Sansad or Children’s Parliamentary across schools in India. To promote outside text books & classrooms knowledge to school students, the Centre is planning to launch it. It will be based on the Lok Sabha model & will have a robust opposition & a Cabinet, to be selected by a method adopted by the school. A Bal Sansad will take up the problems of the school. It also weaves cultural social plans for children. From essay competitions to annual sports, it has the final word while teachers help them with inputs. If there is any problem in the school, be it teaching or facilities, the opposition will raise the same. The meeting will be held once in a month. Every year new Bal Sansad will be in place so that more & more children get a chance to be a part of it. CBSE will have Bal Sansad for sure & even the State government will be requested to start in their State school with help of the Centre.

The Human & Resources Department has also decided that the best Bal Sansad will be decided through a congregation of Bal Sansads in a State & a prize of rupees 1Lakh will be given. A senior official said “We would also like the Bal Sansad to have gender champions who will spread the message of parity between men & women & also programmes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
